Sadie Amara Calvano was born in America. She is best famous for her performance as Violet Plunkett from the CBS comedy series 'Mom.' Calvano is from California, and initially was intrigued by athletics. But, she decided to pursue a career as an actress. In 2010 she first appeared on the screen in a scene from the CBS series "NCIS.' The biographical crime thriller film J Edgar was her big screen debut just a year later. In the ensuing years, she has been recognized to be one of the most promising young actresses in the current industry. She was nominated in 2011 for an Young Artist Award in the category of the Best Performance by Young Actresses 11-15 for her work on NCIS. In 2013, for an appearance in Disney XD's "Kickin' It comedy show She was also nominated for the Young Artist Award. Calvano was part of the cast of Mom during its initial three seasons, and also appeared on several occasions in the fourth. In 2015, she was awarded the Gracie Allen Award of Outstanding Female Actor - Rising Star for her appearance in Mom.
